When our children are only a few months old we begin encouraging them to talk. We giggle and laugh at their cute attempts while never feeling the slight bit embarrassed to be caught going "Say Maaa Maaaa" over and over again. WHAT WERE WE THINKING?!? Here I sit, 4 years after my last child, once again posting the completely embarrassing thing one of my children said. Now, instead of coaxing them to talk, I find myself shushing them more and more often! I've decided that needs to stop. My children are some of the funniest people I know, especially when they don't even know what they are saying! Tonight's latest incident happened during Caleb's basketball practice. Malachi had been playing with some friends and went out in the hall for a while while I visited with some of my "mommy" friends. Later he comes running in and announces to the world: "Mommy! I pooped on the potty! And I didn't wipe. There was food in it, so I didn't flush." I didn't know if I should laugh or run, so I chose laughter. (And so did the ladies with me). There are more times like that than I can possibly remember, so beginning with this blog, I will try to record the great things that come out of the mouths of my "babes" and will try to remember to choose laughter.
